Why the Olive Branch?
Few symbols run as deep in Scripture. A dove returned to Noah with an olive leaf, the first sign of peace after the flood. Jesus prayed in the garden on the Mount of Olives the night before the cross. And olive oil still anoints Christians at baptism and confirmation.
